Holding, 2026

Draft series text for Richard to approve.

Holding explores what happens when contact becomes transformation, and transformation requires adaptation.

Vessels are opened, displaced, stitched, pinned and braced. Rawhide crosses an opening. Chain puts a form under tension. Metal becomes part of the structure. The systems that hold these objects together are left visible.

Those relationships are not always comfortable. The same thing that supports a form can constrain it. I’m interested in what becomes possible after an irreversible change, when returning to the original form is no longer the point.
